Junkouture!!

This is the last week of Junkouture so everything is hectic. Sowing on bottlecaps, making last minute changes, playing with various hair and make up styles. 

Next week is our fashion show. We are mainly trying on the dress to make sure that they are ok and that everything is in place.

Next week I will put up some photos of the amazing dresses!

Mini Company Talk??

So Last Thursday we were going to our second mini company talk. We were all sitting in the Odeon laughing, talking and waiting for Orla to start the talk. When a lady came in to tell us that we will not be having our talk as Orla is unable to come. So they told us we could watch Skyfall, the James Bond movie. Cheers erupted from the seats. We all settled down and watched the movie. It was an amazing movie, very intriguing. When we were leaving we got a little paper bag that has popcorn, randoms a drink and a madagascar cup in it FOR FREE!!!
Now we have to go back to the Odeon to get part two of our talk. So another trip to the cinema.

Dress Up Day

The Friday before midterm our school had our Halloween dress up day. Each year is given a theme and have to dress accordingly.

First Years: Witches

Second Years: Pirates

Third Years: Super Heroes and Villains

TY: Zombies

Fifth Years: Scary Clowns

Sixth Years: Harry Potter

As you can see everyone made a huge effort and we all had tons of fun. 

Everyone let there imaginations run wild. We had everything from platform 9 and 3/4 to the joker to Hagrid.

Each class picked two people in their class to represent them in the fashion show. The judges and a difficult time picking winners.

Fun Walk

Last Friday we had our annual fun walk Each year is given a colour and the theme of the walk is friendship. We have to pick a song and do a routine. TY's were yellow. Our class decided to be the yellow pages. Our link to friendship was to prove that friends are only a phone call away. Ms Bowes looked up the friendship line in the Yellow Pages.We were dressed as yellow pages and danced to Call Me Maybe. But unfortunately Ms. Bowes dialed the wrong number...

Junkouture!!!!!!!!!!!

Junkouture!!!!!!!!!!!

This week has been reasonably quiet. I have been focusing mainly on Junkouture. We have to make a fashionable outfit out of recycled materials. I'm in a group with my friend Roisin and our main material is bottle caps. We have been busy collecting and painting the caps. Today we started making the outline of the skirt.

Carlingford!!!!

On Monday and Tuesday we were in Carlingford adventure centre. I had the best time ever. We did a load of fun activities, everything from kayaking to zorbing to laser tag!!!
We left Esso at 7am in the morning -_- When we got to Carlingford we met the instructors and got our rooms. There was six other people in the same room as me! We grabbed our swim stuff and headed down to the beach leaving all our bags laying open in the middle of the floor. To say it was messy was the understatement of the century!
We got to the beach put on wetsuits, bouyances and helmets. We paired off and got a kayak. We went to the spring where the  story of the fountain of youth originated and stood under it for 10 seconds so now I live a day longer! YAY!!!!
We than had a swim in the sea to stay warm. It was great fun floating in the sea. We than headed back to shore and dries off. We went back to the centre only to find our rumbling stomaches being  greeted by the smell of hot chips. After lunch we went out to do low ropes and zorbing. I was strapped into a giant bubble and rolled down a hill!!
That evening after dinner we had social time. During this time we could hang out and go to the chinese and chipper. We had to be into our room for 11 and lights out at 11:30. we were woken up bright and early the next day and set off on our last activity we had a challenge course followed by lasers. The challenge course was quiet fun as we had to do loads of mini activities in teams. I got absolutely soaked! That afternoon we did lasers and had a blast. We had army overalls and a hat. Afterwards we went home!!!!!!!!!

Introduction

Hi everyone! This is my TY blog.In this blog I will be telling you all about my TY year!
Last week we had a day of workshops! First of all i had positive parties. we learned how to anchor positive experiences. we also learned not to panic if something does not go exactly to plan and turn it around. After that we had a Social development workshop in this we learned that everyone puts limits on themselves and how to get rid of those limits so we can go farther in life. Overall it was a good day and I enjoyed it.
